Bermuda Lacrosse To Hold Exhibition December 9, 2007 For more information or interviews contact: Michael Totman Weekdays: 278.2215 Cell: 331.3275 (Devonshire, Bermuda) December 9, 2007 The Bermuda Lacrosse Association held the Island Construction lacrosse exhibition today at the National Sports Centre between Bermuda’s Best and The Rest. The move to the new venue along with the larger crowds at each event shows the growth that lacrosse is experiencing in Bermuda. Harrison Burke, midfielder for Bermuda’s under 19 team that will participate in the 2008 lacrosse World Cup, opened the scoring in the first half for Bermuda with a goal past the usually stingy goalkeeper for The Rest. The combination of 2006 World Cup captain Steve Michel and Bermuda Lacrosse Indoor League champion Ken Winford proved to be too powerful this day, however, as Bermuda lost in heartbreaking fashion 11-6. The Bermuda Lacrosse Association will be taking Bermuda’s best lacrosse players on a tour of the US, with potential stops in Miami, Tampa, New Orleans, and San Diego this winter. We will also host the first Bermuda Invitational Lacrosse tournament June 14-15, 2008. The Bermuda Women’s Lacrosse Club is looking for any interested players, all ages and skill levels are welcome. Please contact us for more information.
